To be a sourcing engineer to Identify, Select, Qualify and Manage suppliers. Develop strong supply base and Commodity supplier strategy to support buying activities and/or projects transferred to China, to achieve overall project target and cost saving objectives, perform commercial negotiation and MTA discussion, work together with quality team on continuous improvement initiatives toward establishing a world class supply base. In details:
- Identify, develop and qualify Asia suppliers to support business needs
- Review supplier base against project specifications and undertake various activities to develop and recommend a short list of suppliers for regular review by/with project managers
- Participate in project implementations, new product introductions, re-sourcing projects, etc when needed.
- Day to day supplier development work e.g. get quotations, analyze and monitor variances, review supplier progress against project milestones, first article inspection, pilot run and first production orders etc.
- Review and clarify accuracy of specifications between suppliers and business units overseas
- Manage supplier capability development, qualification
